Overview

  • Tier One Technologies is looking for a SME Sr. DBA/Developer to support a US Government client.
  • The engagement aims to acquire support, development and maintenance services for the client SQL and Oracle database environments as well as SQL and Oracle Server support.
  • SELECTED CANDIDATES MUST MEET ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCESS TO SENSITIVE INFORMATION AND ENVIRONMENTS. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide database support, development, and maintenance services for the client’s SQL and Oracle database environments, including SQL and Oracle Server support. Responsibilities encompass SQL and Oracle database servers, MariaDB, MySQL, MS Access, and SQL Cluster environments, covering both clustered and stand-alone configurations.
  • Responsibilities include general support, development, and maintenance of Oracle Databases, SQL Databases, SQL Server, SQL Clusters, MariaDB, MySQL, and MS Access environments.
  • Troubleshoot daily SQL Server and SQL Cluster issues, including system setup and configuration, error triage, and performance-related concerns.
  • Assist users in creating and managing SQL and Oracle databases, and resolve issues related to SQL, Oracle, or MS Access, as well as application-related integrations (e.g., SharePoint) involving database development, support, and management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology. Or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience across a wide range of database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MS Access).
  • Proficiency in Oracle tuning, including SQL tuning/optimizing to ensure the response time and throughput, as well as Oracle statistics generation to improve the performance of the Oracle optimizer. 
  • Extensive experience in SQL programming using query tools such as SQL Plus/Scripts, PL/SQL, and Toad.
  • Ability to interact with end users and monitor the operations of the systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.
  • Must be able to pass drug screening, criminal history, and credit checks.
  • Must have resided in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years immediately prior to the start of performance on this contract or have worked for the United States overseas in a federal or military capacity or be a dependent of a federal or military employee serving overseas.
