Overview

  • Tier One Technologies is seeking a System Support Specialist to provide troubleshooting assistance and resolve technical issues related to personal computers, servers, and Local Area Networks (LANs) in support of our U.S. Government client.
  • This 1-year contract position (with 4-year extension) can be located either in Corpus Christi, TX or McAllen, TX.
  • SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to distributed PC/networking environment including installation, testing, repair, and troubleshooting for PCs linked to networks, printers, and other computer devices.
  • Perform technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers either by telephone, or on-site for PC desktop hardware and software packages.
  • Install and test personal computers, printers, and other peripherals, configure operating system, and other application software programs.
  • Troubleshoot computer problems, perform hardware and software diagnostics, coordinate needed repairs, resolve computer system problems, including coordination between users and components of a local area network.
  • Participate in the evaluation of system configuration and software.
  • Provide help desk functions via email, phone, or in person.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in computer related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in System Support.
  • Prior experience providing direct end-user support for the applications being supported, including both telephone support and on-site assistance to users.
  • Prior teaching/training experience involving computer applications, preferably database, imaging, or other automated litigation support applications strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on familiarity with the network, telecommunications, and operating systems environment.
  • Familiarity with Automated Litigation support is preferred.
  • Experience with DOJ office automation environments is extremely helpful
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.
  • Be able to pass a drug screening, criminal history, and credit checks.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
  • Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
  • Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
