Overview

  • Tier One Technologies is seeking an IBM iSeries Server Administrator to support the payroll system infrastructure for our US Government client.
  • This will be a 100% remote 1-year contract position with an expected 4-year extension.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software.
  • Manage user accounts permissions and access controls.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshooting issues.
  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
  • Perform updating and patching software procedures.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to support the overall infrastructure.
  • Participate in Security Administration, Program Management, Application Administration and Training.
  • Minimize server slowdown and downtime by maximizing reliability, ensuring a secure environment, and maintaining scalability to meet client needs.
  • Occasional travel to other CONUS locations may be required.

Qualifications

  • A degree in computer related field required. Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in an Administrator position supporting server environments.
  • Prior experience working with IBM iSeries server is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Payroll environment is a plus.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other CONUS locations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD Public Trust clearance.
  • Must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in the last 5 years.
  • Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years.
