Overview
- Tier One Technologies is seeking a Sr. z/OS Developer with Mainframe and Java interoperability experience for our US Government client.
- This will be a 100% remote Contract-to-Hire position.
- SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, implement and manage software programs as well as testing and evaluating new programs.
- Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
- Write and implement efficient code to support the systems’ integration and migration activities.
- Works closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts.
- May be required to travel occasionally to support business efforts.
Qualifications
- A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then 4 additional years of related experience is required
- 10+ years in Mainframe development, including IBM z/OS, JCL, COBOL, VSAM, and MQ.
- Must have proficiency in REXX and SAS scripting on Mainframe systems for data manipulation and process automation.
- Basic understanding of Java programming.
- Prior experience working with JZOS and IBM JavaClassGenerator to facilitate Mainframe and Java interoperability.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices on Mainframes is a plus.
- Familiarity with MQ use with Apache Kafka is a plus.
- Prior experience with performance tuning on Mainframe systems is a plus.
- Working knowledge of the best practices in Mainframe development and support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (ability to translate between business and technical concepts).
- All candidates must be US Citizens or have permanent residence status (Green Card).
- Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
- Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
- Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded.
