- Tier One Technologies is seeking a Video Conferencing Engineer to work with our direct US Government client. This hybrid position will be located in Raleigh, NC.
- SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the integration of enterprise-wide telecommunications infrastructure including WAN, LAN, audio and video services (Data, Voice and Video).
- Recommending and deploying Audio and Video (A/V) hardware and software based on the Postal Service security architecture.
- Supporting different codecs, converters, and transcoding technologies that support Postal’s A/V systems.
- Supporting A/V wiring such as HDMI, SDI, Composite, XLR, MiDi, DVIi, RGB, USB, etc.
- Supporting all physical connections between any component of the Postal Service Endpoint Technology Services and any associated information resource not under Postal Service control.
- Understanding the Content Delivery Network (CDN) and the functionality associated with this architecture.
- Maintaining the integrity of data and network information resources.
- Maintaining an accurate inventory of Postal Service A/V information resources.
- Creating and maintaining a timely patch management process for network information resources.
- Implementing and managing video conferencing connectivity. Conducting capacity planning.
- Protecting information resources at risk during security incidents.
- Experience with providing audio and video traffic analysis to include service sufficient to design A/V setups.
- Experience working with and managing local exchange carriers and vendors for livestreaming events and VoD downloading.
- Understanding of network connections, SBC and Gateways including troubleshooting SIP and QoS networking.
- Evaluating hardware and software products to determine effectiveness of use with strategic design of video conferencing services.
- Analyzing and organizing data to represent key measures of progress and performance.
- Developing and preparing appropriate metrics reports for operational and project activities for internal management and control, and for higher management information.
- Assisting with developing and improving processes, including the use of ServiceNow to automate service provisioning, as well as improving control of production.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in telecom engineering or software development and/or related field.
- Ability to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program.
- Experience with managing Incidents and supporting suppliers for legacy and new A/V equipment and connections; tracking to resolution.
- Experience with MS Windows and Linux based servers and using a CLI to input commands.
- Experience in compression and caching techniques for video conferencing traffic over an IP network.
- Experience with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Active Directory (AD) support.
- Understanding of Distribute Media Engine (DME) and transcoding live video streams.
- Understanding in working with proxy, firewalls, enclaves and DMZs for the purpose of setting up or verifying network connectivity.
- Understanding of IP addressing schemes across an enterprise network.
- Understanding of multicast and unicast communications across an enterprise network.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be eligible to obtain a sensitive clearance – Position of Public Trust – and may be required to obtain a higher security clearance.
- All candidates must be a US Citizen or have permanent residence status (Green Card).
- Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
- Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded.
